The effective corporate tax rate off of the 35% starting point is 14%, I recall reading, or your 22% or 13%. All this blather about the US having the highest corporate tax rate in the world is just that, since it neglects the fact that other countries also have features in their tax codes which get their effective rate way down just like the US.

The table in the following article shows the US to have the highest statutory tax rate, but only the fourth highest effective tax rate. Lower than Japan and the UK, and only a bit higher than Germany:

Whatever the number, have you seen anything anywhere that explains whether the new tax code does anything about the deductions and/or loopholes that gets the effective tax rate down so much? If not, our new 21% tax rate will effectively be more like 10%.
